Mission

The mission of Idaho Novus Classical Academy is to train the minds and improve the hearts of students through a classical, content-rich curriculum that emphasizes virtuous living, traditional learning, and civic responsibility.

    Vision

    The vision of Idaho Novus Classical Academy is to form future citizens who uphold the ideals of our country’s founding and promote the continuation of our American experiment—through a classical, great books curriculum designed to engage the student in the highest matters and the deepest questions of truth, justice, virtue, and beauty.

      What is American Classical Education?

      •    A traditional education in the liberal arts and sciences, defined by an emphasis on the American traditions of literature, philosophy, and history.
      •    Classrooms where teachers instruct students and convey the tools of learning so that students are prepared for the pursuit of truth.
      •    Curriculum that engages students with ultimate questions of truth and beauty that define the human experience.
      •    School culture defined by a seriousness of purpose and emphasis on the development of character and preparation for civic engagement.

        Academics

        •    Explicit phonics instruction with a focus on language and literacy (including spelling, grammar, vocabulary, sentence diagramming, and writing)
        •    Mathematics taught conceptually in cross-grade ability groups
        •    Latin and Greek roots introduced in grades 4 and 5, with Latin required for all students in grades 6 through 9
        •    Visual and performing arts classes that emphasize theory, history, and performance
        •    Memory work, recitation, and public speaking cultivated through practice
        •    A comprehensive K-12 civics program
        •    Public defense of a senior thesis as a graduation requirement in grade 12

          Classroom Size K - 1

          • 3 classes per grade
          • 18 students in each class

            Classroom Size 2 - 6

            • 2 classes per grade
            • 27 students in each class

              Curriculum

              Following the Hillsdale College K-12 Scope and Sequence, including Literacy Essentials and Singapore Math. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a broad human education that will enable them to pursue the truth, flourish, and discover happiness.  Please click on the link below for further details.

                

              Location

              The school will be built in Avimor, a master planned community along Highway 55.
